Quick Update

The hollyhocks are progressing - I like just making a small quilt, though my son, quilt aficionado that he is, did ask me if it was 'just one block' for a larger quilt. I was quite impressed with his encyclopaedic knowledge of (one) quilting term and it would be good to make a whole quilt of different flowers, but not right now.

I did a bit of free motion machine embroidery round the petals - I like the effect on the darker ones, not so sure about the one at the top on the left. However, I sure ain't going to rip it out and I'm viewing this as a practice piece anyway.

In my last post Connie commented that the photographs weren't clickable to make them open up in a larger size in another window to show more detail. I would like all my pictures to be clickable, but sometimes they are, and sometimes they aren't and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Does anyone know what you have to do to make them all clickable? (In words of one syllable avoiding the need for shedloads of html.) All hints gratefully received.

The way I make all my pictures clickable is to select "large" for size (I've heard medium is ok too) and "none" for setting, opposed to left/right/center. Never had the clickable problem since! :)

I love these appliques. I think the stitching is beautiful. Don't change a thing.

The purple flowers are beautiful. Try to save your photos (before you post them)in a smaller format (600x800 pixel or something like that. With this size two or three photos on the same post are clickable. If you put many photos only the first ones are clickable. Hope this works for you.

never mind the photos being clickable or not (Icouldn't tell you how to do it even if I wanted to) I'm just gonna say those hollyhocks are beautiful - well done you - can't wait to see them develop

The hollyhocks are just lovely--wish I knew how to make things clickable, but I don't. I too would like to hear how when you figure it out. =)

Those hollyhocks are lovely. The colors are so bright and cheerful. And what a wonderful way to "experiment".

These are just so beautiful. Normally blogger does make the pictures clickable. When you are moving the pictures around, look at them through html page. Then copy and paste all the language about the picture - the stuff within the brackets. I find that when I move the pictures around with the mouse, sometimes the clickable reference stays at the top rather than moving with the picture.

You can highlight the stuff you want, press control and c at the same time to copy. Then move the mouse to where you want to, and press control and v at the same time to paste. This is a windows feature, so you can generally use this copy and paste feature whatever software you are using.

Two cheers for his quilting knowledge...my Dh has only picked up the names of two blocks and that applique means stitching one perfecly good piece of fabric on top of another perfectly good piece of fabric (shich by the way you have done a fantastic job with your hollyhocks!)
