And I made a bargain purchase, this book, Quilted Planet by Celia Eddy, normally retailing at £25 but on sale at £10 (and I have seen it for sale at £25 in my local branch of Borders). It has examples of many types of quilts from all over the world - just goes to show, there's nothing new under the sun.
Now I'm going to sit down with a cup of tea and catch up with all the posts I've missed over the weekend.

This is gorgeous---I love the quilt pattern. Do you 'monkey with the sewing machine tension when doing your free motion work or do you leave it on automatic?
This is a beautiful quilt, I love the colors you used!!
Beautiful quilt!!
Enjoy your bargain book!
What a beautiful quilt! I love the colors and the pattern -- very striking!

It might have taken some time to quilt, but the effort sure was worth it - stunning!
Cheers!

Lovely quilt Fiona - takes loads of time and miles of thread too I wouldn't wonder - but the end result is definitely worth it
Those feathers may have taken forever, but they were well worth it. The finished quilt is lovely!
Such a beautiful quilt and beautifully quilted too.
It's just beautiful Fiona, you must be thrilled! The peacock feathers look just great, they are time consuming, but the effect is just wonderful!
*hugs*

What a great scrappy quilt ... well done!
The depression quilt looks marvelous! As do the peacock feathers. I've done them only once, and that was in the background of a wall hanging. I can't imagine doing them all over an entire quilt!
What a find in that book! I have it and love it - I was lucky enough to be able to buy it wholesale with my longarm business license.
