Progress so far
All the HSTs have been sewn into squares so now it's just a matter of making up the blocks - not much progress this week because I don't have much time in the evenings but I have completed four blocks so it's coming along. There might just be a few dodgy darks in there but I'm pleased with it overall. The other pic is of the lavatera in our garden after the rain. Yes, after days of sweltering sun it has now rained for the last 3 days and I've had to bring Frankie inside so he doesn't get wet! Thanks to those of you who have given me rabbit keeping tips - they are much appreciated.

I like your scrap block! That's the block that Marcia Holm calls "The Depression Block" on her Quilters Cache website. That's the one that I've chosen to do from my scraps next. It's nice to see a real block in addition to her drawing.
I love the "dodgy darks" the add character to the quilt! (They don't ruin the effect.)
I like this quilt so far. I looks exciting and a fun way to use up scraps. Keep sharing the progress with us.
Very pretty, Fiona. Using up a lot of HST's from the stash too!
Blocks are looking great - a very effective way to use up something so simple - I love the overall secondary pattern effect where you can't quite make your mind up whether they're dark diamond 'polo mints' with a light background or the opposite
Boy has that bunny fallen on his feet - I hope he realises what a good mummy he's been adopted by :o)
Your depression blocks look so nice Fiona! I really like the softness of the color. I have more tans and white in my blocks, and I think Joanne(rocking on the porch) had primarily tan backgrounds in hers. It's pretty with the pinkish glow!!!
I was thinking your flowers were petunias..they sure look similar. Great color too, I have some that are very similar. Glad you got some rain..*VBS* Hugs, Finn
Oh they are going to be such a great quilt! I love the look and I don't see anything dodgy at all!!
Frankie is pleased I'm sure to not be getting his fluffy hair all wet and icky!
I love your patchwork. Anne is right, the secondary patterns are neat. How big are you planning on your quilt to be? Summers are too short. There will always be quilts there won't always be warm weather and fuzzy bunnies. Have fun...
Melanie
Love your depression block quilt -- the colors are grand. I don't think the darks are bad at all!
