Lilac Time

It's been a while again, hasn't it? Still run ragged at work so not much going on here in the creative department. I have finished up all of the rectangles I had on hand for the lilac top - can't decide whether to just leave it as it is and call it a cot quilt or add borders to make it bigger. I do like this pattern though, I'd like to try it in plaids from shirts or multicoloured scrappy.

I'm thinking there's definitely a lilac and green theme going on here - this is the flower bed opposite the shed where I hung the photograph. I like the way my foxgloves have come out all white.

Very pretty! I couldn't get my quilts to match my garden so well. LOL

I really like this pattern - yet another contender for the 'Simple but effective' award. Light green and lilac always play together beautifully. I have some peach/apricot foxgloves in the garden here - the white ones are very effective. What are the strong purple flowers in front of them

The colous go together so well! I think a border would be great. Maybe a narrow lilac one and then a soft green?

Hi fiona, the lilac and green is just lovely, both in nature and in your quilt. It's a great pattern.
Hope the busy stuff ends soon. Hugs, Finn

Nature makes the best color theme suggestions, don't you think? I just re-read The Secret Life of Bees, great story!
~ Good to read you again.

It looks great and how fun that you have the same exact color combo going on with your flowers!

The quilt is lovely, I always like the combination of lavender and green. I like the white foxgloves - mine are all pink this year.

Beautiful quilt! I reminds me of a puzzle we play trying to put square shapes in a set rectangle shape. I'm sure it was a lot of fun to play with!
