... but I wish it was.
I couldn't resist sharing the picture of this vintage string quilt that I spotted on e-bay. What a great way to set those string blocks, and don't you just love the wonkiness of it? I so want to try this layout myself. It may not be precision pieced from uniform shapes but it makes me smile just to look at it - it's joyful, that's what it is.

Looks like it ought to be out under a tree with little girls playing dolls... I just love this....
If everything were precision, we'd be pretty uptight *s* What a cheerful quilt!
What a fun quilt!
ooooh, love it. what a marvelous fun quilt.
Lovely. Is it hand quilted?
It is gorgeous! Was there a date on it? It looks like 30s to me.
You know I'm not that big a fan of what I'd call 'Pinky and Perky' pink (that's showing my age) but I really like it in this quilt - it fair makes it sing, thanks for sharing - it's the sort of quilt that you can't help smiling along with
A quilt like this is definitely on my list of quilts to make. I love that the strips don't have to line up with each other.
I wish it were mine too! So charming and whimsical. Take care.
Oh, I love this wonky quilt! I was wondering what to do with my scraps, but my colours are a bit on the dull side, I might have to raid the charity shop! This one is just great. I think the spots and stripes and yellow make it lively.
Lovely quilt. I can see why you like it so much, it has such personality.
Love your blocks in the last post too.
Your quilt is lovely!

You know, it looks really well made despite the wonkyness...very pretty!
You are so right - this is a wonderfully happy quilt!!!
Yep -- wonderful, happy and don't I wish it were mine :0).
String quilts are so great. They use up a lot of scraps, and the colors in this one are very cheerful. I like that it is sort of wonky. That makes it charming to me.
That string quilt certainly has character. I have never given any thought to them until now. Thanks for sharing the picture, it's given me inspiration.
I also love the colours and you have chosen for your little rectangles in your last posting. That is another way I have never thought of. It just shows that sometimes, the simple things are the most effective.
I'll be back to visit you again soon.
