I am still here ...

... haven't given up blogging or quilting, just finding it difficult right now. Other aspects of my life (mainly work) have kind of taken over. Can't say I'm pleased about it because I'm not, I always said my quality of life would be diminished if I didn't have some kind of creative outlet that was just for me. I am struggling to find a work-life balance (not helped by the kitchen upheaval - pics to follow in another post, or the bout of flu that I'm just getting over).

This is the sum total of my quilting efforts since Christmas, though I have to say I am ridiculously pleased that the lines so far have all come out straight. Next I'm going to meander in the squares created by the grid pattern.

I would also like to thank those of you who have e-mailed to check on me - it is much appreciated, as is this lovely table mat that Anne sent me, just to cheer me up!

This doesn't seem much of a post after over 2 months without posting but hopefully I'll get back into swing of things before too long.

Hooray, Fiona's Back! Isn't it just the *pitz* when work gets in the way of real life? Hope things level out for you real soon.

Sorry you have been ill. Hope you will be 100% soon. Have you finished the Star Garden? Did you read the first in this series, These Is My Words? I have been trying to find that book since I bought the second one, Sarah's Quilt. I like your blue quilt, and the apple quilt is darling.

I'm admiring your straight lines! I want to be able to do that some day.
Sounds like a bunch of things came down on you all at once. Hope it all settles down for you soon.

I'm admiring your straight lines too Fiona - I can meander for England (both on the sewing machine and verbally!) but I'm very straight line challenged - glad to see you back in blogland :o)

Glad you are okay and getting over the flu. I can appreciate how life gets in the way.

Maybe try for just a few stitches every day. Any progress is good. Hang in there ! Oh to be able to quilt whenever One wished ( sigh ).

Your lines look very good. I understand the lack of time to quilt. But I have recently carved out a bit of time with handwork, so I am feeling more on-track. I am sure you will be back in the saddle soon.

Your recycled quilt looks wonderful. Hope you get your 'mojo' back soon and find more time to relax and quilt :)

Glad you're back, and sorry about the flu. I had flu once when I was 19 and can remember it clearly. I just wanted to die somewhere quiet! take care that you don't overdo it, as flu takes a lot out of you. (A litle light sewing is OK though!)

Glad to see you back.
Sometimes you have to let something go - it's a shame it was your creative side. But I'm sure you'll be full steam ahead when things have settled down for you.
Hope to see you soon.

I'd much rather be playing than working! The flu really leaves you feeling drained. Glad you are back in blogland, and thanks for stopping by. Your blue quilt is wonderful, congratulations!
