I've been baking. I love to make cakes. Where I last worked, I used to run General Knowledge quizzes at at lunchtimes and make cakes, so that they paid an entry fee and got a free cake and all the proceeds went to charity. I think they just humoured me with the quizzes and all they really wanted was the cake! Whatever, it meant my favourite charity got a donation. Me and DS made these choc-chip muffins this morning. I used a recipe from Jan at Be*Mused - it worked out perfect! DD had her friend to stay over last night so they had them for breakfast (at about 11.30) and DS and his friend had some this afternoon.
I made a little pillow and sheet to go with the doll-quilt - I think it adds a little something! I posted it to the little girl - it's always exciting to get things through the post (well, I think so anyway).
I picked up a couple of plaid shirts at charity shops this afternoon - that only makes about 20 I've got to cut up now! Best get on with it then.

Fiona that little doll's bed set is adorable. The little girl should be thrilled with it.( lovely colours! ) Your charity baking sounds a generous idea.Good for you!
The muffins look good - any chance of your anglicised recipe please (never can suss out US cups and sticks?!?!?)
The little pillow and lace edged sheet just finish off the job :o)
Gosh, those muffins look delicious. The neat part about litle girls is that it gives 'big' girls a chance to remember... I love the doll linens. Lucky girl.
Wonderfull that little pillows.ciao ciao
Love the quiz idea. What a great way to satisfy the urge to bake and keep from having it on hand at home.
Your cakes look just lovely, I can almost taste them. And that doll set is just gorgeous! I love the quilt, and the little lacy detail on the sheet sets it off just beautifully. I know my kids love to receive things in the mail, what a superfun parcel to receive!
*hugs*

That's a very arty little cake photo. I tlooks like it should be in a cookbook. LOVE the dolls bed. I have a few little girl's birthdays coming up and think I may borrow that idea, it makes a change from making them bags.
Are you making plaid quilts from shirts as well? i've got over 20 in my stash as well, just on the verge of cutting. What are you planning? we could intercontinentally collaborate!! cheers, tracey

The bed set is DREAMY! I would have loved to receive just such a thing when I was small. And receiving it by mail would have put me into the stratosphere! Good job, Fiona!
