Finished Top

Here's the Antique Cutie top all sewn together. I haven't given it a really good iron yet so it looks a bit wrinkled but I'm pleased with how it came out. I might start to quilt it quite soon because I now have three finished tops that are waiting to be quilted and for a completer finisher like me, that is three too many.

And that's about all I've had time for this weekend. We went to see the new James Bond film, Casino Royale, last night and today we went into town to collect a birthday present for DS and are going back into the city centre tonight for the official 'switch on' of the Christmas lights. I did have the grand idea that I would make Christmas postcards, too, but that kind of fell by the wayside. Maybe this won't be the year when people receive fabric card off me after all.

Beautiful! I so love the way you set the blocks together. Very unusual for a 30's style quilt - makes it a real stand out!

It looks absolutely gorgeous and I know what you mean about the finishing, I'm the same. Was Casino Royale good? Is Daniel Craig up to the task? I thought Brosnan was great! It doesn't come out here for a while so you better give me e areview! thanks for the comment. Glad you liked the chooks!

Your quilt is just lovely, I'm amazed at how 30's it looks without any 30's fabrics!

Hi Fiona, I think your Cutie quilt is a real beauty! I'm chuckling at 3 tops being too many...LOL, but I should take a lesson from you instead of giggling.
I peek at your chickens and they all look so happy in that basket..*VBS* I'd love to be buying one. I hope they ALL sell like hot cakes! Hugs, Finn

That "Cutie" is a beauty!

Its a shame you won't have time to make fabric Christmas postcards -- it would have been interesting to see what you came up with...

love the antique cutie! I, like you, have grand allusions of the Christmas gifts/cards I would make. I really need to start in July with those projects but it's hard to think about winter when the beach beckons!

That setting really sets off those blocks - my gut reaction would have been to use white for the cornerstones but that yellow just does the trick - I just wouldn't have had the courage to do it - the top is looking very pretty - can't wait to see it quilted

Its beautiful.

I'm trying my hardest to finish one quilt before starting on the next. Already have one UFO and don't want anymore.

I love how the quilt came out. I hope, if you are quilting it, you will share pictures of the quilt patterns you choose for it. I was thinking hand quilting, but maybe you meant machine?

This turned out so cute, Fiona! Unusual pattern but looks like it is true to the period.

Your Antique cutie is definitely a Cutie! Looks great. I do have to admit that I have more than three WIPs.
