I was looking for round Yo-Yo makers on the Clover website when I saw that these Flower Shaped Yo-Yo makers were coming out.
Quilt shops have just started to stock the round yo-yo makers here in the UK but the flower ones don't seem to be available yet - I bought these 'buy it now' from E-Bay.com. I think I need a bit more practice to perfect the technique and I have no idea whatsoever what I will use them for but I just couldn't resist them. I think it was the pictures of the finished products that I saw here, they look so pretty. The bigger ones are 1 1/4 inches and the smaller ones 1 3/8 inches and they are very quick to make. And this, I'm afraid, is the sum total of my sewing activity over the last week and a half: life, work, rain, and other stuff has got in the way.

Looks like a MUST to have. I´m waiting for my order. There are also new makers for hearts.
Yours are so amazing!
Those are very cool. You should post a tutorial so we can see how they work.
OMGosh!!! Those are SO cute! I don't even have the regular makers yet and now they have extra shapes. I'm so behind!!! Thanks for posting!
I'm not a one for gadgets - I've seen the circular yo-yo makers and thought in my usual Cocky Bebbington fashion 'I can do that without spending out for tools' - but I can't for the life of me see how these work. One thing I do know is the end result is so pretty - might have to investigate
Oooh cool!! Thanks for sharing your find...I too will have to investigate.
Those are soooo neat! Thanks for sharing:)!
I haven't seen those before, but the results are great. I've tried making yo-yos: or as I call them ho-hums. I found it quite boring. Are these better?
Oh, Oh, Oh, I want, I want, I want! I love the circle ones and am waiting for these to come in to my LQS!
These are really pretty ! Think I might have to have a look-see !
Oh they are so cute - they will surely find the perfect home *s*
I think I may have to get one of those flower yo yo makers. They look really cute. Were they easy to do?
I have seen yo yo's on another blog and wondered how they were made, thanks for shedding some light on the subject.
I am going straight over to ebay right now to check them out.

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Thought I would check out yours and here are these flower yo-yo's. A cool thing I might have to try for a quilt I am working on. I am wanting some 3D effects on it and these would be fun. I might have to blog about that UFO/WIP one of these days.
Something different, & pretty. Must check things like that out around here.
I have medium and large in the round ones and was looking at a site to order the extra large and found thew flower ones........so along with my extra large round one I also ordered a large flower one........they are the best and my sewing girlfiend had a go at the 2 I have already yesterday and she ordered the lot........they cost about $10 Australian
I think these are adorable. I like them better than plain old round ones. Good job on the doll quilt finishes, Fiona!
I've seen the round ones in the QS in Bordeaux. Must say I'm like Anne. Can't seem to get it into my head how gizmo's like this work. I think it is a question of give it a go and hope for the best. Roll on August and trip to Bordeaux! On the other hand, QS in Perigueux now stocks some Clover stuff so you never know.
I think we had the only good weeked the UK has had for weeks. 07-07-07 was a gorgeous gorgeous day.
Hi
I'm a new blogger. Came by your place. Love your quilts and colors.
I never seen before. The flowers are lovely.
The back of your quilt is nice too.

I've been after the round ones as well, now I am straight off to Ebay to find those!!! Tracey
Thanks for the picture! I've been thinking about buying the flower and heart yo-yo makers, but haven't seen any that were made by actual people...you know...not just the pictures on the packaging! lol! Those came out great!
can you please tell me how to get good points on the flower petals. mine are not as good and I have to sew down the back side in order for them to look like seperate petals.
The heart yo yo makers are good as well.. I have all the roun dones and the flower and heart ones.
