Thank you for sharing your project and for the inspiration.

I sent my mother your blog-link and also sent her a few of my 'in progress' photos as well.

I have been working on my quilt top quite a bit, using only scraps and leftover fabrics. I, too, chose to work in blues because I have sooooo many blue fabrics that remain from past projects. You see, I have 3 grown sons and blue was a big color in our household. :-)

I put some photos into my blog so if you have spare time, please stop by!
LynnLynnShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18400123476915540411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27685457.post-1156954632513970752006-08-30T17:17:00.000+01:002006-08-30T17:17:00.000+01:00I have a quilt that could use this kind of treatme...I have a quilt that could use this kind of treatment. Not always that easy to do, I know.

I think it was well worth the extra effort and time to cut it up and re-sew it! And it sounds like you are happy with it also, or you wouldn't be making more blocks..*VBS* You just made my day!! Thanks! The fact that it also lays down better is good too.

Not sure if you were doing this but sometimes when you are adding strip after strip together in the previous version it helps to alternate the direction of your seams---like if you start on one end when you join the first two, start sewing on the opposite end on the third one. Works on strip sets too---the middle piece eases in and you don't get the bowing strips--do the same thing when you add say chunks of three or four strips to another chunk of three or four strips.

Does that make any sense at all?? Describing it is harder than actually doing it!Linda Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12585942908710656032noreply@blogger.com
